A Fall Harvest Dinner – The Castine Historical Society Hosts “Friendraiser” Dinner

The leaves are beginning to change in Castine, a town known for its beautiful coastal scenery and magnificent historic homes. To celebrate the season, the Castine Historical Society is hosting a Fall Harvest Dinner. The evening will feature a three-course dinner with two wine courses to be held at Markel’s Watermark at 6:00 p.m. on October 8th. Tickets for the event are $75 per person. Reservations are requested by October 1st and seating is limited.
The evening will begin with a cash bar and time to socialize. Following cocktails there will be a three-course dinner of gourmet food prepared by Kelly and Mark Sawyer, the owners of Markel’s Watermark. Carefully chosen wines will accompany the first and entrée courses. Keeping with the night’s theme of the fall harvest, entrees include a choice of Creole scallops, braised beef short ribs or a vegetarian entrée of spaghetti squash over polenta.

The Castine Historical Society serves as a window into Castine’s extraordinary past. The Society preserves local history and hosts permanent and temporary exhibitions, lectures, town walking tours, house and garden tours, and historic reenactments. Exhibits are located in its Abbott School gallery at 17 School Street, Castine. The Grindle House offices and research library located at 13 School Street, Castine are open year-round and researchers are welcome by appointment.
