Melanie Twomey

Melanie has been coming to Castine during the summers since 1985. With her husband, Andy, they purchased the family home in 2019 and are thrilled to be able to spend a lot more of their time in this beautiful community. Melanie currently serves as the Advancement Director of a nonprofit called the Effective Leadership Academy. This organization provides a personal growth opportunity to youth in the fifth through twelfth grade continuum and beyond. She helps youth to become workforce ready; ready to learn, ready to earn and ready to navigate our ever-changing world. She has also had a career with experiences as an army officer, educator, fundraiser, and volunteer. Because of her love for the rich history of Castine, she has volunteered as a docent for the past two seasons at CHS.
