Michael “Mike” Boucher

Mike is a retired Naval Officer and a graduate of the Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) and US Naval War College. Mike’s service assignments took him and his wife Beth, another MMA graduate, primarily to San Diego, CA where all his ship-based jobs were located to desk duties in Pearl Harbor, HI, Newport, RI, Champaign, IL, and Omaha, NE. Upon retirement they made their final move and settled in Castine and have been year-round residents since 2018. Among his interests are photography and history which led to his involvement with the Castine Historic Society (CHS). Within CHS’s collections vault, Mike spent this most recent winter digitizing and cataloging more than three thousand images that partially comprise CHS’s first president, Gardner Gregory’s, extensive collection of slides that tell Castine’s history through his viewfinder. Mike is a member of the Exhibits Committee.
