The brooch “The Heart of the Matter, Compassion” is composed of diverse patterns as segments of the overall heart composition. The sterling silver is roller printed with fabric on a metal rolling mill. One piece is composed of fine silver, pure silver, with copper Chinese lettering imbedded in the silver. It uses the process of photo etching on bi-metal. The lettering is oxidized to turn the copper black yet leave the pure silver background white. The piece is constructed and soldered and is one of a kind. It is part of my on going series that employs constructivist design in creating with the iconic form of a heart.
